Ride 2 - I hate 'No Exit' signs

Ride 2 - 24 February 2019
Distance 12.5 miles (Distance to Date 21.3 miles)
Time 1:24 (Time to Date 2:36)

Ride 2 and I already hate 'No Exit' signs.  Every single stupid yellow sign may as well say 'Double Distance'!

Other than that, not much to report!  I'm already finding it quite cathartic colouring in maps.  When I do the rides I have a phone mounted on my handlebars so I can track streets (and try and ensure I don't miss anything!), so I slowly make my way around the target area, basically colouring in while taking in the scenery!  Taking adult colouring to a whole new level!

This bike was a bit more road worthy than the last!

Just a bear, looking like Elvis, hanging out under a palm tree.

Do you ever look at something and think, "that guy's got too much time on his hands?"

Tyndall Park (48.484249, -123.321919)

Come here on a sunny day for open space and great views of Mt Doug

Library and Notice Board (48.482400, -123.316047)

Library Boxes are a thing in Victoria, so are Community Notice Boards.  But you don't see them this well made very often (ever in my case!)

Ride 48 - Final Ride!!

Ride 48 - 15 Dec 2019 Distance 25.1 km (Distance to date 1532.7 km) Time 2hrs 11mins (Time to date 108hrs 12mins) Put a fork in me........I'm DONE!!! Since February 2019, I have dreamed of this ride.  I'd had all sorts of thoughts about how to end and how I'd mark the occasion.  In the end, I planned nothing.  With my wife heavily pregnant, the rides were becoming a burden and adding a celebration just didn't seem fair. In the end, fate gave me an ending; albeit a simple one.  The final metre of my final street was this................... The cycling gods delivered The last ride was a cold one, with the night's frost melting away as the sun hit. On the way there I also achieved a bucket list level accomplishment!!! Being early meant that downtown wasn't busy, great for a cyclist wanting to meander about looking for his last few random finds of this adventure. Ride 47 - Zzzzzzzzzzip

Ride 47 - 7 December 2019 Distance 22.2 km (Distance to date 1,507.6 km) Time 1hrs 54mins (Time to date 116hrs 1min) Hopefully, if all goes to plan, this was my penultimate ride!  Zipping up the gaps I have left on my map. The ride was pretty miserable, mainly because of the wet December weather. Fenders!!! I did finally ride past the Tartan Toque, probably my favourite place to eat in Victoria.  I'd always planned to stop here for a beer and a bowl of chicken wings when I finally rode past, but it didn't sound so appealing  at 11am!! Best Wings in Victoria (IMHO) My kind of art That crack was made by a dog's head Points of Interest..... No points of interest

Ride 46 - Press in Tow

Ride 46 - 1 December 2019 Distance 33.9km (Distance to date 1,485.4 km) Time 2hrs 43mins (Time to date 114hrs 7mins) I was joined on this ride by a journalist from the Times Colonist !! Got to start somewhere Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of me and Roxanne exploring the east side of James Bay together, but I do have proof for the doubters........... https://www.timescolonist.com/news/local/meet-the-cyclist-who-rode-every-victoria-street-often-twice-1.24039234 The stuff of nightmares Sadly the exploring was surprisingly bland, so not much to report.  I was expecting this area to be a little treasure trove.  Maybe I was just chatting too much Not as comfortable as it looks Points of Interest.....
