Victoria on a Bike

Ride 18 - 23 June 2019 Distance 11.7miles (Distance to date 266.8 miles) Time 1hrs 19mins (Time to date 34hrs 58mins) Things are getting harder as the start lines are getting further from home! Sadly, the most memorable thing about this early morning ride, was the amount of water that seemed to be wasted around Royal Oak by sprinklers, I even saw one sprinkle discharging directly to the road! I used to work in this area and my daily commute involved the death defying overpass of  over Highway 17, so it was nice to discover a traffic free underpass that would have saved all the heartache! Ride 17 – 21 June 2019 Distance 12.3 miles (Distance to date 255.1 miles) Time 1hrs 47mins (Time to date 31hrs 39mins) After a few week and a bit of vacation (cycling!), it’s back to the grind! There were two bikes to chose from.  One in great condition, one old and battered and smelling of pee.  Guess which one I ended up on!? The west side of the map is going to be logistically challenging (I live in the north east corner), so I took the opportunity to jump on a bike after work and start colouring in the map.  Only problem was I started at peak rush hour; when everyone is in a rush but not really moving very far which made it a little uncomfortable being out on my leisurely ride.  Once I got off the bigger roads into the residential streets things calmed down. mmmmm, amonia Points of Interest..... Old Ornamental Carriage   (48.431875, -123.410472) Just a cool old ornamental carriage.  There’s never a horse around when you need one.  Is it too late to switch
