Victoria on a Bike

Ride 7 - 13 April 2019 Distance 18.6 miles (Distance to date 119.5 miles) Time 2:32 (Time to date 14:00) It was raining.  But I'm already feeling under pressure to keep getting the miles in, so I would have to brave it regardless (besides, I'm from England so I can tough out some rain.....right?) So my bike looked like a treat.  No parts missing, nothing damaged, bright green wheels etc.  It was a treat, until I hit a hill and realized I could not select gear 1.  Quite a problem on a bike with three gears!  The original intention was to keep moving east between Bay and Hillside, but as you can see I turned south to avoid the hills. Ride 6 - 29 March 2019 Distance 15.9 miles (Distance to date 100.9 miles) Time 1:49 (Time to date 11:28) This ride was dominated by one thing.  The request from my friend Charlie to ride past her house so her boys (my little friends) could wave to me as I cycled past. I did my bit, Charlie did not.  She was asleep when I passed. This ride was a bit more rushed than usual, as I had a deadline to be home.  The roads were pretty favourable; look at those beautiful gridded streets! Points of Interest..... (edit: wife and son too)   Also great quality of work and in great condition if you're ever in the area! Ride 5 - 23 March Distance 12.9 miles (Distance to date 85.0 miles) Time 1:42 (Time to date 9:39) I guess not every ride in this project is going to be a 10.  Ride 5 was the first ride I've done where I've kind of had nothing much to report, except a cow!!! (see more details of this gem below). After the debacle of finding a bike for my last ride, this one was a piece of cake to find and the bike was in pretty good order (except a damaged pedal). This ride was the first with some steep hills.  We got through it, but there were moments when my legs were near capacity! Points of Interest.....
