So I think as the end is getting near, I'm losing focus a little!! At this point, I have broke the back of my ride and completely taken my foot off the gas. Admittedly I still have a few hours of riding left to do, but I have sufficient time and few plans in the next two months. Job Done. Right?

Much of the ride was around industrial estate. So on a saturday it's a little creepy ............I tried not to think why all the people I saw were hanging around there in skimpy outfits.

I got brave getting this close to a Seagull!

One thing I did see lots of is murals. It brightens up the area, but there's no disguising an industrial estate! A selection of murals shown below

Funny Story

A few months ago I popped into a hardware store to ask if they sold foam for a cushion.

After telling me they had no foam, the shop attendant replied 'why don't you try the foam shop'. I was stunned by the abruptness and uncanadianess of this shop attendant and left the shop immediately ......and then months later I found this!

Ride 11/12 - Bang Bang

Ride 11/12 - 12-13 May 2019 Distance 24.1 miles (Distance to date 212.1 miles) Time 3:09 (Time to date 24:11) To help me keep on top of things, I've combined these rides. I got busy, rode three days on the bounce and have been struggling to catch up since (I have a life away from exploring Victoria too!). v Both rides were in the evening and local to my home. Being out in the evening was a nice change and there were plenty of deer roaming the street at dusk. I found this little used private bench at the end of a cul de sac. It's a little overgrown, but if you just want to take in a view in private, this would be a great spot. Ride 48 - Final Ride!!

Ride 48 - 15 Dec 2019 Distance 25.1 km (Distance to date 1532.7 km) Time 2hrs 11mins (Time to date 108hrs 12mins) Put a fork in me........I'm DONE!!! Since February 2019, I have dreamed of this ride. I'd had all sorts of thoughts about how to end and how I'd mark the occasion. In the end, I planned nothing. With my wife heavily pregnant, the rides were becoming a burden and adding a celebration just didn't seem fair. In the end, fate gave me an ending; albeit a simple one. The final metre of my final street was this................... The cycling gods delivered The last ride was a cold one, with the night's frost melting away as the sun hit. On the way there I also achieved a bucket list level accomplishment!!! How many roads are there in Victoria?

So, before getting started, I'm going to make a guess of what I've taken on. The challenge is to cover every road in Victoria, I've taken 'Victoria' to mean Victoria and the surrounding areas / districts. So the municipality 'City of Victoria' has a total of 258km . Unfortunately, I've made my life difficult and included Esquimalt, Oak Bay and some of Saanich! Just a finger in the air here, but it looks like Victoria covers 1/4 of my area, so I'm looking at just over 1,000km. On one of these: Jeepers
